PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A woman in Paducah was arrested for allegedly stabbing her uncle during an altercation.

According to the Paducah Police Department, Farren Sims, 23, is facing second-degree assault charges.

Police were originally called out to a disturbance at a home in the 1100 block of North 13th Street on Thursday, Sept. 8.

About the same time, police also took a call from a man claiming he had been stabbed.

Police say Farren Sims told investigators that her uncle, 44-year-old William Patrick Sims, came to her home and assaulted her. She said she stabbed him in self-defense.

William Sims told police, though, that he was asked to come to the home and he was ambushed when he arrived.

Williams Sims was taken to the hospital for treatment of a cut on his forearm and a puncture wound to his back.

Farren Sims was arrested and booked at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
