Family ID's shooting victim, homicide investigation underway in Malden, MO

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) -

Police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead in Malden, Missouri.

Police Chief Jarrett Bullock says officers were dispatched to the 700 block of north Kimball Street just after 9:37 p.m. in response to a 911 call about a possible gunshot victim.

When officers got to the home, they found Walter Lee, 39, lying in the backyard.

Officers gave CPR to Lee while waiting for EMS to arrive.

Medic One Ambulance and the Malden Fire Department also responded.

First responders were not able to revive Lee after multiple attempts. Dunklin County Coroner James Powell declared him dead at 9:48 p.m.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Farmington.

Malden police is asking anyone with information to contact them at 573-276-2211.

    Two people were killed and one person injured following a crash in Ripley County on Thanksgiving night. It happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Route K on Nov. 24, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
