A man has died after hitting a car head-on with his motorcycle and being ejected in Lyon County, Kentucky.

On September 7, at 11:57 p.m., Kentucky State Police received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle at the 34 mile marker near Kuttawa, Ky.

Preliminary investigation shows that Nikita D. Davis, 30, of Paducah, was driving westbound on Interstate 24 near the 34 mile marker. David A. Crabtree, 28, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, was eastbound on Interstate 24 near the 34 mile marker on his motorcycle.

For an unknown reason Davis swerved and then over corrected, causing her vehicle to travel through the median, crossing into the eastbound lanes and into the path of Crabtree.

Both vehicles collided, causing Crabtree to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Davis's vehicle then overturned and came to a stop on the shoulder of the eastbound lane. Davis and her two passengers, Chantel L. Merriel, 21, of Paducah, and a 3 year old juvenile, were transported to Lourdes hospital in Paducah with non-life threatening injuries.

Crabtree was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner.

KSP was assisted on scene by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Kuttawa Fire Department, Lyon County Rescue, Lyon County EMS, and the Lyon County Coroner.
