West Frankfort School District to honor 15th 9/11 anniversary

WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) -

The West Frankfort School District commemorates the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 New York Twin Towers terrorist attacks.

Students from around the community will be in the Max Morris Gymnasium to honor the lives lost.

The Illinois State Police, local police, fire fighters, first responders and military veterans will also be present.

The goal is to honor the sacrifices made to ensure the freedoms of all Americans.

All will be honored with a breakfast and special recognition.

Students will sing, play their instruments and read poems during the ceremony.

The breakfast will start promptly at 8:30 a.m., followed by the remembrance ceremony in the gymnasium at 9 a.m.
