This week in music: 2012

(KFVS) -

Let's dip into the country music archives and see what people were listening to on the radio on this week in 2012.

At number five was Love and Theft with their hit  Angel Eyes. It was the duo's first number one single.

A monster hit was in the number four spot.  The song set all sorts of chart records.  Wanted by Hunter Hayes was climbing the charts this week four years ago. It would grab the number one spot at the end of the month. It fell out of the number one position the next week. But an amazing 21 weeks later it topped the charts again.  Earlier this year Billboard Magazine ranked it as the 3rd biggest country hit of all time.

Josh Turner was in the number three spot with Time is Love.  The song never reached to top spot on the charts.  But it also had a very long chart run. By the end of the year Billboard ranked it as the number one song of 2012.

In the number two spot was the song of the summer.  Little Big Town had everybody want out in the open--motorboatin'.  Pontoon was the groups first number one hit.

And in the top spot was Black Shelton with Over.  It was Shelton's seventh consecutive chart topping hit and his 12th overall.
