Ford Model T Hillbilly Tour comes to Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Some antique cars have been rolling around the streets of Cape Girardeau, Missouri the past few days.

That's because the Model T Hillbilly Tour is in town.

They are old cars that come in different shapes and different colors that now, are not all that common of a sight.

There were more than 40 cars and around 100 people in town for the event.

Drivers feel people are very friendly and they receive lot's of looks when driving.

"Lot's of honks, waves," said David Helper. "People are real friendly, and if you break down on the side of the road someone always stops to help."

The ride is slightly different. No Air conditioning, power steering or windows on Helper's model.

"The air's different, you can smell different smells,"said Helper. "You can difference in the temperature when you're going through you can feel a five or six degree temperature drop."

It is a community of drives that all grow together. They go to event's like this all over the country.

  • Burfordville,
  • Sikeston
  • Commerce
  • Jackson
  • Altenburg
  • Frohna
  • Brazeau

The tour will end Saturday night, Sept. 10 with a banquet in Cape Girardeau.
