Motorcyclist injured after colliding with vehicle in McCracken Co., KY

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A motorcyclist was injured on September 7 after colliding head-on with a driver on Blandville Rd. in McCracken County.

On Wednesday at 9:35 a.m. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Regional EMS, and Concord Fire Department were dispatched to a motorcycle versus vehicle injury collision at the intersection of Blandville Road (US62) and Hines Road.

Paul Jones, 22 years old of Clinton, Ky. was westbound on Blandville Road, approaching Hines Road while operating a motorcycle.

A vehicle traveling in front of Jones was stopped, waiting to make a left turn onto Hines Road.

Jones crossed over into the eastbound lane of travel and sideswiped a n SUV driven by William Jackson, 34, of Kevil, Ky.

Jones then collided head on with a van driven by a 16-year-old of Wickliffe, Ky.

Blandville Road was blocked and reduced to one lane for approximately one hour for the investigation and cleanup. 

Jones was ejected from the motorcycle and was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, In for treatment of incapacitating injuries.
