He came to KFVS from Springfield, Missouri where he served as general manager of POP TV, Inc.

"I'm honored to be promoted to general manager of such an important, legacy TV station like KFVS12," Thomas said. "There are so many good people here, and such a great history. I'm excited to be able to work with this team and help KFVS12 continue to be a vital part of The Heartland."

"I've worked at numerous TV stations over the years," Thomas continued. "But there's no question that being general manager of KFVS12 is the highlight of my career. I'm grateful for the trust and confidence that Raycom has in me. Viewers in Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Missouri should know that KFVS12 and WQWQ will continue to be their best source for local news and network programs."

Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a Minor in Radio and Television Management from the University of Houston.

He has been married for 21 years to his wife, Sherry. They have three children: Tanner, 18, a freshman at Southeast Missouri State University; Carter, 17, and Katelyn, 15, both attending Jackson public schools.

Thomas has been the station's interim general manager since previous General Manager Dave Thomason transferred to the Raycom station in Huntsville, Alabama on July 18.
