Paducah man in police custody after leading deputies on chase

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says a search for a 29-year-old Paducah man has come to an end.

Chad Taylor turned himself into McCracken County deputies around 12:30 p.m. without incident.

Taylor was arrested and charged with fleeing and evading police in the first-degree.

He was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. The incident remains under investigation and other charges are likely to follow. 

Investigators say they attempted to pull over Taylor on Sunday, September 4 on US 68 near Watson Road, but he refused to stop.

A deputy followed the suspect for about three miles into Marshall County before Taylor pulled into a driveway and parked behind a home in the 7000 block of US 68.

Taylor ran into the wooded area behind the home.

Deputies could not locate Taylor.

As of 10:30 a.m., the sheriff's department was still looking for Taylor.

The sheriff's department says Taylor is wanted on several charges including: 

  • Following Another Vehicle Too Close - Violation
  • Reckless Driving – Violation
  • Open Alcoholic Beverage in Vehicle – Violation
  • No Vehicle Registration – Violation
  • No Insurance – A Misdemeanor
  • No Operators License - A Misdemeanor
  • Fleeing and Evading 2nd degree - A Misdemeanor
  • Fleeing or Evading 1st – D Felony
