Fire officials respond to fire at duplexes in Jackson, MO

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Fire officials responded on Sunday to a fire at a set of duplexes located at 3153 Main Street in Jackson, Mo.

Officials say one duplex is a total loss. A second duplex has damage, as well.

In one unit of the second duplex, there is extensive fire, smoke and water damage. The second unit of the second duplex is believed to be fine.

Jackson police say one unit had a family of four inside, and everyone made it out safely.

No one got hurt.

At least Cape Girardeau Fire, Jackson Fire, and Gordonville Fire departments were on scene.

The roof caved in on one of the units.

According to the fire department, the fire started on the back porch of the home.

The investigation into what sparked that fire was turned over to the insurance company.
