Home improvement classes set for fall at Rend Lake College

(KFVS) -

Rend Lake College is offering several classes to help you make improvements to your home this fall.

These do-it-yourself projects will be taught by instructor Wayne Kulich.

Learn to build a fire pit, weather-proof your home, and repair drywall just in time for cold weather.

Kulich’s first class, Landscaping with Bricks and Blocks, will focus on landscaping from a brick patio to fancy flower beds.

Participants will also learn how to build their own fire pit, all without the use of concrete.

The class meets from 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Sept. 10.

In October, learn to protect your home from cold weather with Kulich’s Weatherization class.

Topics in this course include tricks to help reduce energy costs, replace a door or window, and check airflow.

The class meets from 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Oct. 8.

Finally, Kulich will teach Basic Drywall Repair, which includes techniques for mending small to large holes, replacing water damage to drywall, and taping and mudding a piece of drywall.

The class meets from 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Nov. 12.

Each class costs $15 and meets in the Vocational Building, Room 103, on the Ina campus.
