The dog days keep dogging the Heartland, but there’s a cool-off in sight. This morning it will be muggy, but dry. You may see some fog during your commute. This afternoon the heat index will be in the triple digits. FIRST ALERT: Cooler, dryer days are close…moving in Wednesday night.

Making Headlines:

Found safe: A 14-year-old New Madrid County girl who disappeared on Monday was found safely. Christian Blair Burton on Monday was located around midnight in Clinton, Mo.

Serious crash: An early morning crash along northbound I-55 sent three people to hospital. The crash happened as a driver and passenger were pushing their car along I-55, and a van ran into them from behind.

Taking precautions: The Vienna Police Department is increasing the safety measures for online exchanges. Signs are now at the department's parking lot reading, 'Online Exchange Zone.'

Caught on camera: Hamilton Police in Ohio released footage of a fatal, police-involved shooting of a robbery suspect inside Walgreens last week. The nine-minute video shows the suspect enter the store, hold the pharmacist at knife-point and ultimately confront two officers. CLICK HERE to watch it.
