DUNKLIN COUNTY (KFVS) -

A Kennett man has been sentenced to probation in connection to a deadly shooting.

Kenneth Bowles shot Shane McCormick in July.

Court documents show Bowles pleaded guilty to a charge of assault in the second degree.

He was originally charged with felonious restraint as well, but that charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.

The conditions of Bowles five year supervised probation include that he must submit to a search of his person, home, or car at the request of law enforcement, he is not allowed to drink alcohol or enter businesses where it is cold, and enter and successfully complete any program of personal counseling and attend and anger management class.

Bowles shot and killed McCormick after McCormick arrived at his mother's home after she and Bowles got into an argument.
