CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Carbondale may be in southern Illinois, but it has a long tradition of dancing that originated in Central America.

Some say Latin dancing is sweeping the nation and gaining popularity. However, there has been a group that is a fan of Latin dancing and has an 18-year tradition to show for it.

Salsa Dance Night is cruising into its 18th year in Carbondale. Those who have taken part say it's been a time of a love for music and dancing.

Members would like to invite anyone who is interested in Latin dancing to attend their latest event. No experience and no partner is required but feel free to grab a friend and check it out.

The 18th Anniversary Party will be at The Newell House on August 26 from 9 to midnight.
