Man arrested in Cape Girardeau after confrontation with homeowner

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A man from Friedheim, Missouri was arrested after allegedly trespassing at a home in Cape Girardeau.

According to police, the victim called police around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning about Michael James Brewer, 25, being on his property.

Investigators said Brewer is reportedly in a "non-sexual" relationship with the homeowner's 16-year-old daughter.

When confronted by the homeowner, Brewer allegedly told the man that he was a police officer conducting an investigation.

However, Brewer is not in law enforcement.

He faces a charge of 2nd degree trespassing.

Brewer's bond is set at $400.
