Carbondale police investigating series of burglaries

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Carbondale police are investigating a series of home burglaries over the course of a couple of weeks.

According to police, on August 20, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered a home in the 1800 block of West Freeman Street and took some property. Police say there was no sign of forced entry.

On August 17, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., police say an unknown person or persons entered a home in the 100 block of Lark Lane and took some property. Police say there was also no sign of forced entry.

Between 12 a.m. on June 12 and 3:35 p.m. on Aug. 20, police say an unknown person or persons used force to enter a home in the 1100 block of East Park Street and took some property.

A fourth incident, between 12 a.m. on June 25 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 19, involved an unknown person or persons entering a home in the 400 block of West College Street and taking some property. Police said there was no sign of forced entry.

The investigations into these incidents are ongoing.

    Sgt. Clark Parrott said Troop E officers are on the scene of a crash on MO 72 near Cape Girardeau County Road 350. He confirms one person has died from injuries in the crash. Relatives have been notified.
