WEAKLEY COUNTY, TN (KFVS) -

The Weakley County Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed robbery on Friday, August 19.

At around 2:51 a.m., deputies responded to 1257 Boydsville Road, north of Dresden, Tenn., in response to an armed robbery.

Deputies say based on information gathered at the scene, 52-year-old Rudy Lee Powers was inside the house asleep when he was awakened by a man dressed in all white clothes and pointing a semi-automatic pistol at his head.

Deputies say Powers was made to lay on the floor of the bedroom while the man and a second intruder took a 38 caliber Taurus pistol and a 20 gauge single shot shotgun.

The two men left in a white, four-door car believed to be a Toyota Avalon.

The two suspects were only described as black males. Deputies say it was possible a white male was driving the car.

According to deputies, Powers believed he heard conversations about Memphis between the two men in the house.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 731-364-5454 or Weakley County Crimestoppers.
