The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is back open after being closed part of the day Sunday due to dredging in the Hickman Harbor.
The dredge is working in the mouth of the harbor and was blocking ferry access to the Kentucky Landing.
The dredge, which has been working in Hickman Harbor since about August 5, has only forced the ferry to close for a few days during what was expected to be a 14-day round of dredging.
The dredge is expected to finish up work in the next few days, allowing the ferry to operate on the normal summer schedule.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.
