CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Police Department is investigating a report of a strong armed robbery on August 17 at around 10:50 p.m.

According to police, they responded to the 300 block of South Wall Street.

They say they learned the victim was walking in the area when three men surrounded the victim. One of the suspects reportedly asked for the victim's wallet.

The victim gave the suspect the wallet and the suspects allegedly took some money.

The men then left, walking north from the area.

The suspects were only described as black males, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall. One was reportedly wearing a white tank top and another was wearing what was believed to be a St. Louis Cardinals hat.

The investigation is ongoing.
