Governor Jay Nixon has appointed Amanda Oesch as the new Carter County Prosecuting Attorney.

The position became vacant after former Cart County Prosecutor Ernie J. Richardson resigned.

Oesch previously served as an assistant prosecutor in Scott County from 2007 to 2012, before going into private practice in 2013.

In private practice, she represents clients in a wide variety of issues, including criminal matters, child custody disputes, real estate issues and business law.

"Amanda is an intelligent and talented attorney with prosecutorial experience in the courtroom," Governor Nixon said. "I am confident that her experience and strong work ethic will serve the people of Carter County well as their new Prosecuting Attorney.
