MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A Mississippi County man is facing domestic assault charges for two separate events in August.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore a deputy received a report of a domestic assault that occurred on Highway 102 on June 19.

The female victim told police that her boyfriend was driving recklessly, driving at speeds of up to 100 mph.

The victim said her boyfriend hit the brakes, causing her head to hit the dash, and then started striking her, throwing her to the ground and choking her.

The woman then apparently got away and ran and as her boyfriend drove off. Photos of her injuries were taken and she refused medical treatment.

A warrant application was applied for on June 20 for domestic assault - 2nd. On August 6, the warrant was issued, set at $25,000 cash or surety.

A deputy said before August 6, another report of assault was received on August 4.

Officials said a woman reported that she was a bystander watching a fight starting in Anniston, and a man was yelling at another man, saying that he wanted to fight.

The female victim said the man just "came up for no reason and punched her in the arm", breaking her upper arm. Her friends transported her to the hospital.

Deputies were still awaiting a warrant for domestic assault - 2nd on the same male at that time.

Officials immediately applied for another warrant application on August 4 for assault - 2nd.

On August 11, a warrant was issued, set at $25,000 cash or surety.

James Dakota Smith turned himself in voluntarily and posted bond on both warrants.
