Volunteers will help restore and expand trails in Shawnee National Forest

The Touch of Nature Environmental Center is hosting Trail Stewardship Days starting on September 11th and continuing on weekends in the fall.

Volunteers will work to clear existing trails and create new trails in the 3,100 acre camp in the Shawnee National Forest along the trails of the Little Grassy Lake.

Sessions will last for three hours with a morning session starting at 9 a.m. and an afternoon session starting at 1 p.m.

Volunteers can take part in both sessions, but they must sign up 48 hours prior to participating.

The schedule for the Trail Stewardship Days is as follows:

Sept. 11, 18, and 25

Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30

Nov. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, and 20
