56-year-old robbed and beaten outside of Murphysboro business

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

A 56-year-old man is recovering from a head injury after he was allegedly robbed and beaten outside of a Murphysboro business.

The Murphysboro Police Department reports officers were dispatched to Roll N Up on Walnut Street around 11:10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 in response to a call about a man refusing to leave as the business was trying to close.

When officers got there, they found Larry Pearson sitting on a sidewalk. 

Pearson had a significant head injury and an ambulance was rushed to the scene.

Further investigation showed Pearson was robbed and beaten outside of the business.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Brandon A. Bodecker, a Murphysboro resident.

Police later found Bodecker in the 1300 block of Showmaker Drive.

Bodecker was booked at the Jackson County jail for robbery and aggravated battery.
