MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of US HWY 45 and Lebanon Church Road after receiving a report of a two-vehicle injury crash on Monday, August 15.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Monday, and a preliminary investigation revealed Karen Lawson, 75, of Paducah, was driving eastbound on Lovelaceville Florence Station Road West.

Lawson stopped at the intersection of US HWY 45 before crossing the southbound lanes of HWY 45. She then entered the median crossing and continued into the northbound lanes of HWY 45.

When crossing into crossing the northbound lanes, Lawson failed to notice a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox approaching. Lawson’s vehicle struck the Equinox, causing both vehicles to exit the right side of HWY 45,

Both vehicles then came to rest in a ditch.

The Equinox was driven by Leslye Choate, 22, of Mayfield. Choate also had a passenger with him, Elizabeth Choate, 52, also of Mayfield. Neither Lesyle or Ekizabeth were injured.

Lawson, as well as her passenger, Sena Cooper, 59, of Paducah, were taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
