Three people were injured in a crash in McCracken County, Kentucky on Monday, August 15.

According to McCracken County deputies, at around 7 a.m., they responded to the 2600 block of Mayfield-Metropolis Road for a crash.

Deputies say Shane L. Jones, 43, of Melber, Ky., as driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla westbound on Mayfield-Metropolis Road (KY 786) when he went off the right-shoulder and overcorrected.

They say Jones lost control of the vehicle once it was back on the road and veered off the left-shoulder and into a ditch.

Once hitting the ditch, deputies say the car came back onto the road and overturned.

According to deputies, it came to a rest with all four tires down and partially blocking the right lane of Mayfield-Metropolis Rd. for about 45 minutes.

Jones, a 29-year-old passenger and a 14-year-old passenger were taken to an area hospital by ambulance.

Deputies say the side air bags deployed and two of the three occupants were wearing seat belts.

The Lone Oak Fire Department also responded to the scene and Randy's Towing removed the car from the road.
