CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau police officers are not only dealing with the extra rain from the last few days outside, but also inside the department's headquarters.

According the Cape Girardeau Police Department's Facebook page, rain is leaking through the roof of police department's roof on Sprigg Street, into a detective's office.

"It's raining. It's pouring, but nobody is snoring," a post on The Cape Girardeau Police Department's Facebook page said, "because it's been raining INSIDE the police department."

But Cape's "bravest" stepped in to help the city's "finest".

"We want to give a shout out and a HUGE thank you to our firefighter friends across the street," the Facebook post went on, "for bringing tarps over and helping us move furniture and equipment around."

And they needed quite a few tarps. Pictures posted by the Cape Girardeau Police Department show tarps covering furniture, the floor, and what looks to be filing cabinets.
