DESOTO, IL (KFVS) -

The Jackson County State’s Attorney announced Thursday that a DeSoto, Illinois man was sentenced to prison on August 10, 2016 for child pornography.

On October 8, 2015, detectives with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the Murphysboro Police Department began an investigation of this defendant for possible possession of child pornography.

On that date, a search warrant was issued and executed on the home of Burgess S. Endres, 25, of DeSoto.

A number of items of computer equipment were seized during the execution of the search warrant.

Detectives with the Murphysboro Police Department conducted a forensic examination of the defendant’s computers and discovered images of child pornography.

The photographs were discovered on a removable storage device in the defendant’s laptop computer.

Some of the images depicted children under the age of 13 engaged in various sex acts with adult males.

Endres was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with possession of child pornography, and sentenced to serve six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The defendant will serve a period of Mandatory Supervised Release of three years up to his natural life upon his release from the Department of Corrections.

This investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the Murphysboro Police Department. Assistant State’s Attorney Casey Bloodworth prosecuted this case.
