Six-year-old Gavin York is getting an early start in the kitchen. He is set to enter first grade and he’s excited about having an after school snack that he makes himself.

Gavin loves his Very Berry Pops. He points out that the cool summer treat is are very healthy. Gavin makes his Very Berry Pops with fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and local honey.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sliced fruit (blueberries, strawberries, pineapple)
  • ½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 5 Whole peeled carrots or pretzel sticks

Directions:

In a medium bowl mix fruit, yogurt and honey.

Spoon into small plastic Dixie cups.

Insert one peeled carrot or one pretzel stick upright in the center of each filled cup.

Freeze for a minimum of one hour.

Squeeze bottom of frozen pops to loosen from cups.

Enjoy!
