SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A teen in Sikeston, Missouri accomplished a pretty impressive feat.

Julius Hoang got a perfect score on the ACT.

He took the test the first time in the seventh grade and again in the ninth grade, but he knew he could improve his score, so Hoang took it again and scored a perfect 36.

He said he put this much effort on the test so he could get better opportunities for his future.

Although he's the one who achieved the perfect score, Hoang is giving all of the credit to his family.

"I would give the credit to my parents," Hoang said. "When I was younger, I made a lot of mistakes and they were there, they gave me the freedom to, like, learn from my mistakes, so learning from my mistakes and everything like that, taught me to work for things. Things aren't going to be just handed to me, my parents didn't give me everything I want, they make me work for it."

Hoang said he hopes to get into MIT and one day get a job in computer programming.
