MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Murphysboro-Pomona-Somerset fire crews are wrapping up at a mobile home fire just north of Murphysboro that broke out on Tuesday, August 9.

Firefighters with Murpshysboro-Pomona-Somerset Fire Protection District say the call came in at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday to 126 Rees Lane just outside Murphysboro city limits

MPS Fire Chief Bill Bateman said when firefighters arrived on scene the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Vergennes and Murphysboro Fire Departments provided mutual aid.

Chief Bill Bateman said no foul play is suspected and the cause of the fire was accidental.

"We believe that the lawn mower had some kind of malfunction that caused it to explode, catching the structure on fire...consistent with the detail of events as the home owner described. Therefore the fire will be ruled accidental."

The homeowners said they lost everything they owned in the fire.

Firefighters say the home appears to be a total loss.

No was injured.
