Fire damages home in Sikeston

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A home in Sikeston was damaged after a fire Tuesday morning.

Investigators were called to the home just before 10 a.m.

It is in the 600 block of Lindenwood Avenue.

According to firefighters on scene, the fire started in a room in the northeast corner of the house.

Everyone got out of the home safely, but two dogs died from smoke inhalation.

The basement and second story of the house both have smoke damage.

Investigators have not determined how the fire started, but said it does not appear to be electrical.
