CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Over the Fourth of July weekend, the barber pole that was outside Sit-n-Bull Barbershop in Ironton, Missouri was stolen.

The owner, Steve Gibbs, talked with us a few weeks ago saying he wanted his pole back.

Russel Dillingham saw that story and reached out to Gibbs with an offer. Dillingham is a retired barber that no longer needs or uses his barber pole.

"He don't need it and saw that I have a need and felt compelled to give me his," said Gibbs. "This is awesome, I'm really excited."

The two barbers talked for around 15 minutes, exchanging stories and jokes about the barber business.

"This barber pole spun for me for 25 years," said Dillingham. "So I hope it gets you for 25 years also."

"Well I sure do appreciate it, you can't even imagine how much," said Gibbs.

Gibbs is still looking for his pole but is very happy with his replacement.
