This week in country music: 1993

(KFVS) -

Let's step back in time and check out the country music scene from this week in 1993.

Billboard Magazine's Hot Country Hits had Carlene Carter at number five with Every Little Thing. It was Carter's final major hit on the charts.

At number four was Tracy Lawrence with Can't Break it to My Heart. Some of you may remember, Lawrence performing that song during a concert at the SEMO District Fair later that fall.

A song we can all relate to was in the number three spot.  It Sure is Monday by Mark Chesnutt reminded us all that the weekend was over and it's time to get back to work.

Brooks and Dunn held down the number two spot with We'll Burn That Bridge.

And in the top spot was a signature song from Alan Jackson. Chattahoochee was named Record of the Year at the CMA awards later that fall.  The video was also pretty popular.  You may remember, it had Jackson water skiing in a pair of cowboy boots.

It's hotter than a hoochie coochie around here.  Any relief in sight?   Check in with Brian on The Breakfast Show.
