Deputies with the Graves County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on KY 384 on Friday, August 5, according to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Nathaniel Proctor, 17, of Mayfield, had been driving westbound on KY 384. He then ran off of the roadway, struck a mailbox, overcorrected and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle rolled over, crossed the roadway to the left and came to a rest after striking a utility pole.

Proctor was transported to Baptist Health of Paducah for treatment of his injuries. Three other passengers, Joe Goalder, 15, Issac Leek,17, and Tristan Miller, 17, all of Mayfield, were checked at the scene by EMS but were not taken to the hospital.

According to authorities, speed was a contributing factor. Deputies say that all four were wearing their seat belts, which kept there from being other or more severe injuries.
