BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

A Franklin County, Illinois man died due to possible heat stroke on Friday evening, August 5.

Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler said that Jason Bailey, 43, of Benton was found unresponsive at his ex father-in-law’s home.

According to Leffler, the preliminary autopsy results are pending toxicology, but he said they showed evidence of a possible heat stroke.

Leffler said the final autopsy with toxicology results will be available in four to six weeks.

He said the 911 call went out around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

The ambulance responded to the scene and took the unresponsive Bailey to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to family members, Bailey had been working outside on Friday in the heat.

He went to his ex father-in-law's home to ask for help watching his two-year-old son.

While there, Bailey said he did not feel well and lied down on the couch. He was later discovered to be unresponsive and not breathing.
