KSP makes second arrest in connection to Oak Grove, KY murder investigation

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police detectives have made a second arrest in connection to an ongoing murder investigation in Oak Grove, Ky.

KSP had been investigating an unidentified body that has been located on Carter Road on July 20, at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an Oak Grove Police Officer found the body of an unknown subject in a wooded area of Carter Road close to Ghost Bridge. The body was found several feet from the roadway after the officer was investigating a strong odor that he noticed while on patrol.

The victim, later identified as De’Andre Marquis Palmer, 19, Clarksville, Tennessee, was reported missing on July 17, 2016, to the Clarksville Police Department.

An arrest warrant had been issued on Deqavion M. James, 18, of Oak Grove, Ky. in late July for the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Robbery - 1st degree
  • Tampering with physical evidence

James is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555. Callers may remain anonymous.

On August 2, 2016, KSP detectives from Post 2, served an arrest warrant on Leonardo D. Miller, 19, of Oak Grove, Ky. 

Miller was already incarcerated at the Christian County Jail on other charges not related to the murder investigation.

Miller was charged with the following:

  • Murder
  • Robbery - 1st degree
  • Tampering with physical evidence

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
