RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Missouri primary elections are all but wrapped up, with most of the November contests set in stone - but not completely.

The Republican primary election for Ripley County Western Associate Commissioner is, as of Wednesday Aug. 3, completely tied.

According to the preliminary vote count, both "Jerry" Lawrence Kelly and Andy Towell received 475 votes exactly - splitting the vote 50/50.

The Ripley County Clerk says that to resolve the tie, they will follow Missouri Statute 115.515, which would in effect allow for a special election to decide the race, or for the winner to be decided by lot.

We will continue to update this story as we find out more about the race.
