Piedmont, MO man seriously hurt after crash into tree

WAYNE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A Piedmont, Mo. man and woman were hurt in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Wayne County.

It happened around 8:55 p.m. on Route 34 just South of Highway V.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol,  71-year-old Jon Hartley was driving a Chevrolet Blazer and for an unknown reason drove off of the road and hit a tree.

Mr. Hartley was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and his passenger, 73-year-old Carol Hartley, was also taken to the same facility with moderate injuries.

Troopers report that Mr. Hartley was not wearing a seat belt and the crash totaled the Blazer.
