Tuesday morning will look much like Monday, with strong storms moving in right about the time you head to work. Brian is tracking another round of storms that will affect your afternoon as well. FIRST ALERT: The end of the week looks HOT. Brian says don’t be surprised if heat advisories are issued for Thursday and Friday.

Making Headlines:

Search continues: Investigators throughout Jackson county are trying to track down who is responsible for shooting and injuring a Carbondale officer late Sunday night. A minimum reward of $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identity, arrest, and conviction of any of the people involved in the shooting.

Casting ballots: Missouri voters will head to the polls today starting at 6 a.m. for the primary election. In the Heartland, there are more than 70 local and state issues including the race for governor and several sheriff's up for re-election.

Up in flamesFirefighters are on the scene of an early morning house fire in Union County, Illinois. Crews are still working to determine if the woman living in the home was there at the time that the fire started.

Unusual warning: Health officials are advising pregnant women to avoid a part of Miami where mosquitoes are apparently transmitting Zika directly to humans. Ten more cases of the virus were announced on Monday.
