CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

Multiple agencies were in Carterville, Illinois on Monday, August 1 where a burned car was towed from the woods.

Police said in a press conference on Monday afternoon that the car, a Grand Prix, is believed to be the suspect vehicle in an officer-involved shooting in Carbondale.

It's not clear if the car was set on fire intentionally, but the fire marshal was on scene to investigate.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Carbondale Police Department and Illinois State Police were on the scene on Dewmaine School Road.

Investigators were walking through the woods looking for evidence and the roads were blocked off.

According to an employee at Vernell's Interstate Service in Marion, the car was towed and dropped off in DuQuoin, Ill. at the ISP lot.
