5 people arrested during DUI checkpoint in Scott Co., MO

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A sobriety checkpoint in Scott County on Saturday led to the arrest of five people on various charges, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office. 

The Southeast Missouri DWI Task Force set up the checkpoint on U.S. Highway 61 north of Sikeston. 

Tiron Mitchell, 42, of Sikeston, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance. According the sheriff's report, Mitchell also had two active warrants in Scott County. 

Dylan Hewitt, 18, of Sikeston, a passenger in Mitchell's car, was arrested for possession of marijuana. 

Ashlie Snow, 30, of Sikeston, was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property after she was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Arkansas. 

Kali Rice, 21, of East Prairie was arrested for possession of marijuana. 

Damanthan Stevens, 40, of Haywood City was arrested for driving on a suspended license. 

Mitchell, Snow, Hewitt, Rice and Stevens were all taken to the Scott County Jail. 

Hewitt, Rice and Stevens were each released on a summons to appear in court. 

Mitchell and Snow were each held on a $5,000 bond.
