One person has died after a two-car crash that blocked parts of Main Street and Illinois Avenue in Carbondale, Ill. in Saturday.
Police in Carbondale said the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Police were forced to block of at least a block of traffic in each direction of the crash.
One of the vehicles, traveling north, was occupied by two people, while a westbound vehicle was occupied by just one person.
When the two cars collided, the northbound vehicle was sent airborne and rolled over.
All three passengers were taken to Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, where one of the occupants of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead.
An accident reconstruction investigation is underway.
