KENTUCKY (KFVS) -

A Kentucky man was arrested Thursday after allegedly speeding on a motorcycle and evading police.

On July 28, 2016, at approximately 2:35 p.m, Kentucky State Police Troopers saw a motorcycle speeding while traveling west bound on I-24 in Lyon County.

Troopers initiated a pursuit but were impeded by traffic.

Near the Lyon/Livingston County line, officials saw the same motorcycle now traveling 162 mph in a 70 mph zone.

A trooper joined the pursuit of the motorcycle as the lead unit and observed it ramp off of interstate 24 onto KY 453 at exit 31 near Grand Rivers, KY in Livingston County.

The operator of the motorcycle, Chase Williams, 21, of Fort Campbell, Ky., then lost control in a curve and collided with an earth embankment on KY 453.

Williams then fled the scene on foot into a nearby wood line.

When officials began to deploy a K-9, Williams came out of the woods and surrendered to officials without any further incident.

Williams was taken into custody and transported to Baptist Health Paducah hospital for an arm injury sustained in the collision where he was treated and released.

Williams was charged with speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree – motor vehicle, fleeing or evading police 2nd degree - on foot, and 3 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree.

Williams was then lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
