Land Between the Lakes says 'farewell' to bobcat after 22 years

KENTUCKY (KFVS) -

The Woodlands Nature Station said farewell to its bobcat on Friday, July 29.

According to a post by the U.S. Department of Natural Resources, the bobcat died from kidney failure, which is common in older bobcats.

Rescued from Memphis, Tenn., the USDA said the bobcat come to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area as a kitten in 1995.

In the 22 years she lived there, they say she contributed to the learning and knowledge of nearly 1 million visitors.
