PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Paducah's Police Chief and a few other officers spent Thursday in the swimming pool with some kids.

The kids were part of the Paducah Parks Department's Summer Camp.

The group went to Noble Park Swimming Pool as part of the camp.

So, the officers held two cannonball contests: one off the diving board and one in the shallow end.

It didn't take long for the kids to convince Chief Brandon Barnhill and Officer Matt Scheer to cannonball right in to the pool.

Later, Officer Gretchen Morgan went down the slide!

The department treated all the kids at the pool to free ice cream.
