FIRST ALERT: Summer weather pattern is here, meaning a hot and humid Monday

First Alert Weather Outlook:

We are officially in the summer weather pattern. Brian’s First Alert Forecast shows more hot and humid weather for your Monday. Waking up temps will be around 70, and you’ll already feel the humidity. By lunchtime, we will already be reaching temps close to 90. Sunday was the warmest day of the year so far, with a high 95. There is a possibility of a pop-up thunderstorm or two across the Heartland this afternoon/evening. FIRST ALERT: a break in the heat is expected in time for the weekend.

Making Headlines:

Under investigation: This morning authorities are still on the scene of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. From across the world, officials and public figures are expressing condemnation and shock after a gunman opened fired at a nightclub in Orlando, killing at least 50 people and wounding dozens.

Standing as one: Communities across the Heartland are coming together in remembrance of the Orlando shooting victims, including Murray, Ky. Murray State's office of LGBT Programming, along with two local churches are hosting a candlelight vigil on Monday, June 13 at 8 p.m.

Behind bars: Police and FBI agents were working to figure out why a man from Indiana had three assault rifles and chemicals used in making explosives in his car some 2,000 miles from home in Southern California. James Howell, of Jeffersonville, was arrested on Sunday morning.

Deadly plane crash: Today we could learn more about a plane crash last week where a Carbondale man was killed. According to the Williamson County coroner, 56-year-old John Alleman died of blunt force trauma when his plane went down on Friday.
