MURRAY, KY (KFVS) -

Communities across the Heartland are coming together in remembrance of the Orlando shooting victims, including Murray, Ky.

Murray State's office of LGBT Programming, along with two local churches are hosting a candlelight vigil on Monday, June 13 at 8 p.m.

The event will be hosted in conjunction with First Presbyterian Church of Murray and First Christian Church of Murray.

Other organizations may come on board as collaborators as the office works to finalize plans.

The office of LGBT Programming called the Orlando shooting "hate filled actions."

"The terroristic and hate filled actions of the last 24 hours have taken the lives of over 50 individuals and injured more," the office wrote in a Facebook post. "This action strikes deep into the LGBT and ally community."
