Does It Work: My Spy Birdhouse

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

If you like to watch the wildlife right in your backyard, you probably own bird feeders and bird houses.

The makers of a product called My Spy Birdhouse claim their birdhouse can give you an up-close and personal look at the life of birds by bringing their nest right to you window.

To test the My Spy Birdhouse, we enlisted the help of bird lover Verla Carr of Jackson, Missouri.

We went to her home on (of all places) Birdie Lane in April and put the My Spy Birdhouse in place on a spare bedroom window.

Our cameras returned in June to see the results While Carr had plenty of birds' nests around her home and in her other birdhouses, birds did not seem to want to make a home in our My Spy Birdhouse.

"I do have to give it high marks for staying up with the weather and the wind that we had," said Carr. "It never came off the window. I'd have to give it two stars just because it didn't work for me. That doesn't mean it won't work for everybody."

Carr gave the My Spy Birdhouse two stars on this Does It Work Test.

We purchased our My Spy Birdhouse through Amazon.com for $6.54.
