MAKANDA, IL (KFVS) - Bath time with Fido often means bath time for you. The makers of a product called Woof Washer 360 claim their pet washing attachment can give you a clean dog quicker and easier than just a garden hose, but does it work?

Paige Bird said she and her Labradoodle Lucy go to battle when it's bath time.

"Half the time if it's in the tub I'm in there with her so I'm completely soaked," said Bird. "Or with the hose, either way I'm usually soaked by the end of it."

The Woof Washer 360 commercial claims it offers 360 degrees of clean by means of an adjustable arc of water jets engineered to clean any size dog from head to tail.

Looking at the packaging, Bird worried that Lucy would be too large for the woof washing loop.

"I'm scared that it might not fit around her, but it says it's adjustable so I guess we'll find out," said Bird.

Right out of the box, Bird found the Woof Washer 360 was easy to adjust. She said she was relieved she wouldn't have to wrestle Lucy through the loop, but could rather adjust the loop around Lucy.

Bird filled up the shampoo reservoir and turned on the water, but Lucy was not so sure about this newfangled contraption. After a lot of coaxing, and a small amount of chasing, Bird got Lucy into position to be Woof Washed.

"She's like okay, this is weird," said Bird.

Lucy was rinsed down in seconds and ready for shampoo. Bird twisted the knob to release the soap, but Lucy did not get noticeably sudsy.

"I don't see the soap," said Bird. "But it is on."

We let Lucy loose to investigate the soap situation. Upon closer inspection Bird saw some bubbles in the water on the driveway and concluded that some shampoo was being released, just not as much as she would have liked.

Meanwhile, Lucy (clearly wanting to test the product thoroughly) found herself a comfy spot in a flower bed and coated her wet coat with dirt and mulch.

"Now she's ready for a bath," said Bird. "With this dirt, you still have to scrub with your hand."

Lucy endured the Woof Washing with an air that said she was above all this bath business, but Birds said her aloofness was a definite improvement over her usual bad bath behavior.

"She's liking it more than a normal bath, that's for sure," said Bird.

In the end, Lucy shook off the experience, but Bird remained pleasantly dry.

"My feet got wet, but as far as my clothes or the rest of me I didn't really get as wet as normal, so it was good," said Bird.

Bird gave Woof Washer 360 four stars on our Does It Work test.

Woof Washer 360 is available online through the product's website for $19.99, or for $22.99.

Beware – there is an older version of the Woof Washer that has a solid loop that did not receive good reviews by users. Look for the adjustable Woof Washer 360 we tested if you choose to spend your money on this product.
