Fitness Boot Camps have become popular for people looking to get in shape or shave off those last few pounds.

It is not your typical everyday work out.

While some might feel intimidated, Fitness Trainer Tamatha Crowson says it may be more approachable than you think.

“That is kind of the perception that's out there,” Crowson said. “The whole point of being in a boot camp is to do a workout that you do kind of as a team building activity, you don't have to use a lot of equipment for them, you can do it anywhere.  People don't need to be scared of them. I think that there's a lot of fear around the word.”

Aside from personal training and teaching fitness classes, Crowson conducts her own boot camps.

She says no camp is ever the same.

Each one is shaped around those who participate.

“Every workout is different and I'm always very careful to show different levels of exercises,” Crowson said. “So if someone comes in and they're an athlete, they've been working out for years, I can definitely shape their particular workout towards them. But I have people who have not worked out in years or ever or may be very over weight and any of those people can do a boot camp because everything is tailored to their specific level and abilities.”

Crowson says the thing about a boot camp is there is a start and finish date and it can be cheaper than hiring a personal trainer.

Many boot camps often come with nutritional and meal prep classes to even help reshape your diet.
